German Egypt Control: the guaranteed solution for your home and villa

Bed Bug Control in Egypt: We Treat the Nest, Not Just the Surface

If you wake up with new bites every morning and spraying hasn't helped, the spray is probably landing on the surface while the bugs sit deeper inside. We inspect first and find the nest, then treat the places bed bugs actually hide, and we come back for a follow-up visit to deal with the eggs that hatch.

We find the nest and treat it at the source, not a surface spray that wears off.

Spot the problem early

Signs you have bed bugs

  • Bites in a line or a small cluster on your arms, neck or back that you notice in the morning.
  • Tiny black dots like ink marks along mattress seams or on the sheets. These are bed bug droppings.
  • Small blood spots on the pillow or sheet when you wake up.
  • Empty, light brown shells in the corners of the bed or sofa. Bed bugs shed these as they grow.
  • A sweet, musty smell in the bedroom when the infestation is heavy.

Where we usually find them:

  • Mattress seams
  • Sofas
  • Behind sockets

How we get rid of bed bugs

  1. 1

    Inspection and finding the nest

The technician opens up the mattress seams, checks the bed frame and sofa, looks behind sockets and picture frames, and works out which rooms are affected before giving you a price.

  2. 2

    Simple preparation with you

We tell you what to wash and what to take out of the wardrobes. Please don't move furniture between rooms, because the bugs travel with it.

  3. 3

    Treating the hidden spots

We treat the cracks, seams and joints themselves with safe products that keep working for days. It isn't a quick mist into the air that dries and does nothing.

  4. 4

    Follow-up visit

Most products don't affect bed bug eggs, so we return after about two weeks to treat the newly hatched bugs before they grow up and lay eggs of their own.

  5. 5

    Written guarantee

You receive a guarantee certificate stating the period and the type of service. If bed bugs appear within that period, we come back at no extra cost.

One number to remember

A trained technician, Ministry of Health approved products and a written guarantee after the visit.

Why do bed bugs come back after spraying?

Most people who call us have already tried something: a can from the supermarket, or someone who sprayed the whole flat in an hour and left. A week later the bites are back, and it starts to feel as if bed bugs simply can’t be killed. They can. The product just has to reach the place where they live.

A bed bug is small and flat. During the day it hides in any gap thinner than a bank card: mattress seams, the joints of a wooden bed frame, under sofa fabric, behind sockets and picture frames, even around the door frame. It comes out at night to feed, then goes back. A general surface spray never touches it, and strong-smelling sprays tend to push it into the next room instead of killing it.

The second reason matters even more, and it’s the eggs. A female lays eggs almost every day and glues them into cracks where they’re protected. If the treatment is a single visit with no follow-up, the eggs hatch a few days later and the cycle starts again. This is why so many people end up believing bed bugs have no solution.

How we deal with bed bugs in your home

We start with an inspection. The technician doesn’t start treating the moment he walks in. He turns the mattress, opens the seams, looks under the bed frame and checks sofas and fabric chairs, then moves on to the rooms next to the bedroom. The point is to find out how far the infestation has spread, because treating one bedroom while bugs are also living in the living room means they will come back.

After the inspection you get a price, and we agree on it before we start. You also get some simple preparation instructions: what to wash, which wardrobe to empty, and to leave the furniture where it is. Moving a sofa into another room before treatment is one of the most common ways bed bugs end up all over a flat.

The treatment goes into the hidden spots: seams, joints, cracks in wood, carpet edges and around sockets. We use Ministry of Health approved products with a residual effect, which means they stay active on surfaces for several days and kill any bed bug that crosses them. Most are low-odour, so you don’t need to move out.

About two weeks later we come back for the follow-up visit and treat the bugs that have hatched before they grow up and start breeding. This step is what separates a bed bug treatment that ends the problem from one that only delays it.

Bed bugs in flats, hotels and shared housing

Bed bugs have nothing to do with how clean your home is. They arrive in a suitcase, on a second-hand sofa, or from a neighbour’s flat through cracks and pipe gaps. We find them in very clean flats in the Fifth Settlement and Maadi, in student housing in Nasr City, and in hotels and furnished rentals.

If you manage shared housing or furnished flats, it is best to treat neighbouring units at the same time. Treating one flat and leaving the one next door lets the bugs cross back over. For commercial properties we can book visits after working hours or on a day off.

When to call us straight away

If you notice even one of the signs above, don’t wait. Bed bugs breed quickly, and an infestation in one bed today can reach every room within a few weeks. The earlier you start, the easier and cheaper the treatment.

Call us or send a photo of the bug or the black dots on WhatsApp. The technician will tell you whether it’s bed bugs or something else before you pay anything.

After the treatment: what to do

  • Wash sheets and covers on a hot cycle and dry them well, or keep them in a sealed bag until you can wash them.
  • Don't wipe the treated areas with water and cleaner for a few days, so the product keeps working.
  • Seeing a few bed bugs in the first days after treatment is normal. They are leaving their hiding places and won't survive.
  • If you bring home second-hand furniture or come back from a trip, check the bags and seams before they go into the bedroom.

The price is set after the inspection

The price of bed bug treatment depends on how many rooms are affected, how much furniture needs treating (beds, sofas, wardrobes) and whether the home needs one follow-up visit or more. We give you the price after the inspection, before any work starts. We confirm the exact price before we start, and the inspection comes with no obligation.

After treatment you receive a guarantee certificate stating the period and the service, and if the problem returns within that period we come back at no extra cost.

Questions we hear a lot

Bed bug control: frequently asked questions

We've gathered the questions we're asked most, with straight answers.

Still have a question?

Call or WhatsApp us and we'll answer right away.

Do bed bugs die after the first treatment?

The bugs you can see die on the first visit, but most products don't affect the eggs. That's why we come back after about two weeks to treat the ones that hatched before they can lay eggs. Skipping this follow-up is the most common reason people say the treatment didn't work.

Do I need to throw away my mattress or sofa?

In most cases, no. We treat the mattress and sofa where they are, and the seams and stitching are what we focus on most. We only suggest throwing something away if it is badly torn and the bugs have got deep into the filling, which doesn't happen often.

Is the treatment safe for children?

Yes. The products we use are approved by the Ministry of Health and are safe for children and pets when applied correctly. We only ask that nobody sits or lies on the treated areas until they dry, which doesn't take long. Most of the products have little or no smell.

Isn't a supermarket spray enough?

Usually not. Ordinary sprays only kill the bugs they touch, and bed bugs hide in cracks you can't see. Random spraying also makes them scatter into other rooms. That's why the homes we visit after DIY spraying often have a bigger, more spread out infestation than before.
